a) Block mountain and fold mountain
b) Primary and secondary seismc waves
c) Earthquakes and volcanoes
Answers
Block mountain and fold mountain
Fold Mountains are formed when two tectonic plates move towards each other leading to the folding of the layers of the Earth. Block Mountains are formed when the two tectonic plates move away from each other causing cracks on the surface of the Earth.
Primary and secondary seismc waves
The waves that reach the earths surface first once energy is emitted from the earths surface are called primary seismic waves. The waves that reach the earths surface after the primary waves once energy is emitted from the earths surface are called secondary seismic waves.
Earthquakes and volcanoes
Both volcanoes and earthquakes occur due to movement of the Earth's tectonic plates. They are both caused by the heat and energy releasing from the Earth's core. Earthquakes can trigger volcanic eruptions through severe movement of tectonic plates.
