Difference between a consumer of goods and consumer of service:
The consumer of goods is an individual or group of individuals who have purchased a specific product in question, namely, washing machines, chips, and others. The consumer of goods is an individual or group of individuals who have purchased a service, namely, a ticket to Mumbai, a meal at a restaurant, a movie and others.
- Consumers of goods obtain a specific physical product in return for the money spent by them. The quality of such a product generally is explicitly mentioned and is easier to judge the performance and quality of the product.
- The consumer of services purchase service in return for money and here the quality of the service is more implied. If the actual experience of the consumer is more than his or her expectation, the service is said to have exemplary quality and if otherwise occurs, then the service does not fit the criteria.
