Distinguish between a hot desert and a cold desert

the temperature decreases because the sand gets hibernated.like sahara and thor desert etc.

*in cold desert the temperature is very low during day and night

and in some cold desert there is little ponds and in the pond the water is hot.like ladakh and siachen etc.
