(a) An object is said to have a Rectilinear motion if the change in its position, are all along a straight line path. When an object moves, from one position to another, along a curved line, the object is said to have a curvilinear motion. (b)rotation - the repetitive, and nearly circular motion, around an axis in which the object appears to stay on at the same position. Revolution - the repetitive motion of an object, around a central point, in which the position of the object keep on changing.
