heya..
here is ur ans..
ACID-
1) acids are sour in taste
2) it turns blue litmus into red
3) all the acids react with metals
4) the pH value of acid is between 0 -7
5) for ex.Hydrochloric acid(HCl)
BASES-
1) they are bitter in taste
2) it turns red litmus into blue
3)all the bases do not react with metals
4)the pH value of bases is between 7-14
5) for ex. sodium hydroxide (NaOH)
hope helped..

Hey....
difference between acid and base on the basis of physical properties:-
ACID:--
*acids are sour in taste.
*Acid turns blue litmus to red.
*Strong acids damaged the fabrics.
*Acids are electrolytes..
BASE:--
*Bases are bitter in taste.
*Bases turns red litmus to blue.
* It is soapy to touch .
*it turns colorless phanephthaline to pink.....
Now... difference between acid and base on the basis of chemical properties:-
ACID:--
*when acid reacts with metal it forms salt and water.
eg. HCl +Na--->Nacl+H2O...
*When acid reacts with carbonate then it forms salt , water and CO2..
eg...MgCO3 +Hcl----->MgCl2+H2O+CO2....
*when acid reacts with base it will form salt and H2O and it is also called neutralization reaction..
eg....HCl+NaOH------->NaCl+H2O..
BASE:----
*when base reacts with metal it forms salt and hydrogen gas..
*when base reacts with salt.
eg...2 NH4Cl+Ca(OH)2---->CaCl2 +2NH3+2H2O.......
Hope this will help u...
