The rms value of alternating current is equal to that value of DC( Steady current ) which produces same amount of heat in a given resistance as produced by the given AC, when passed for the same time (T).Irms = I0/√2 where, I0 = peak value of AC. Average value: The average or mean value of AC is equal to that direct current which sends the same charge in a circuit in the same time as is sent by the given AC in the same circuit in its half time
