Answer:

Lets see….you need a very clear distinction between the two types…..let me try!

Explanation:

It is obvious that the selection of production method certain will affect the overall quantity of production. So the selection has to be made on the basis of your job type.

Job Production method:-

This method proves helpful for non standardized or special product manufacturing.  Non standardized means that each product that has been order by the customer varies in nature and size. This means that you may have to make use of separate production method. Apart form this, for completion of the job you may also have to vary or alter the size of the equipments and machines.

Also the work has to be carried out as and when the order is received. At the time of commission or assemble of each product or equipment, all major components and parts have to be placed together.

1. You have to make use of large number of components and machine.

2. You may also have to employ many labors for completing different jobs.

3. Production variation possible.

Examples: Dam construction, ship building, or even book printing.

Batch Production:-

This method is ideal in case the production is repetitive type irrespective of the quantity. Under this method a batch or group of products are manufactured at the same time. so when making use of this method, it is obvious that production is divided within various stages or batches for each operation.

The moment one single operation is commenced then it is moved to second stage of completion.

1. The nature of job done is repetitive type.

2. Making use of functional layout for each stage to be completed.

3. Each batch is completed within a single stage before being passed out to the next stage of manufacturing.

4. Arrangement of machines is made such that same type of machines are arranged at the same place as one unit.

5. Ideal method for seasonal trade.

Examples :- Biscuit manufacturing, motor manufacturing, tinned food, and manufacturing of nuts and bolts etc.

Even if this is the case, still you may have to get familiar with the limitations offered by each type.
