Bhangar is the old alluvial soil deposit in Northern plains while Khadar is a new alluvial soil deposit in Northern Plains.

Bhandar the largest part of northern plains is formed of older alluvium
They lie above the flood plains of rivers and present a terrace like feature.
Khadar the newer younger deposit of flood plains are khadar
They are renewed almost every year
And so are fertile thus ideal for intensive agriculture
