Explanation:

Biodegradable substances are those that degrades or break down naturally. Non-biodegradable substances are those that do not degrade easily. These terms itself defines the ability of the substances which are degradable or not. Materials like plants, animals, their waste, paper, fruits, flowers, vegetables fall under biodegradable substances, on the other hand, rubber, plastic, chemicals, paint plastic falls under the category of the non-biodegradable items.

Biodegradable waste:- Biodegradable waste is the waste which can be easily decomposed into the soil. Biodegradable waste does not harm the environment and do no cause any kind of pollution. Even it increases the fertility of soil. Examples of Biodegradable waste are vegetable and fruit peels, cow dung, kitchen residue, leaves etc.

Non-Biodegradable Waste:- Non-Biodegradable waste is the waste that can not be decomposed into the soil. Non-Biodegradable waste harms the environment and cause soil pollution. Even, it decreases the topography and fertility of soil. Examples of Non-Biodegradable waste are Polythene bags, Glass, metals etc.
