block mountains are those which are created by the uplifting of two parts of land leaving a low corridor in between them .
example :Rhine valley in Europe
mountains formed by the folding on layers within the upper part of the Earth's crust. either by plate tectonic theory or internal architecture of thrust belts became well understood
example :the Himalayas.
