Evaporation
It is a slow process.
It takes place from surface of liquid.
The temperature of the remaining liquid decreases during evaporation.
It can take place at any temperature below the boiling point of liquid.

Boiling
It is a fast process.
It takes place from the bulk of liquid.
The temperature of the liquid that is undergoing boiling remain constant.
Every liquid has a fixed boiling point at a particular pressure.

Boiling:-
1.Boiling takes place at a fixed temperature called boiling point.
2.Boiling is independent of surface area.Boiling depends on surroundings and atmospheric pressure.
3.The bubbles of gas are formed in the liquid at the bottom and on walls of the vessel.
4.The bubbles filled with saturated vapour, whose pressure increases as we increase the temperature of the liquid by heating.
5.In this process continues heating is required.

Evaporation:-
1.Evaporation takes place at all temperature.
2.Rate of evaporation of a liquid depends on surface area, temperature and amount of vapour present in air.
3.During evaporation the molecules of substances continuosly move with random speeds in various directions.
4.During their collision they transfer the energy to other molecules. The molecules at the surface aquire energy and may fly off from the Surface.
5.Evaporation is a surface phenomenon and it is a process of cooling.
