Answer: Simply,by comparing both the isomer's Spectra you can distinguish b/w them. Cis-isomer suffers distortion & is forced to be non-coplanar & so thus absorbs at lower wavelength region. Whereas, Trans-isomer doesn't suffer distortion thus absorbs at higher wavelength region.
