Complete linkage is exhibited when the genes for a particular character are present very close to one another. It is.due to non-break in the gene combination situated on a chromosome. On the other hand, incomplete linkage occurs when the genes for different characters are separated at the time of gamete formation due to breaking and exchange of chromosome pieces during meiosis.
