A contact force is a force that is applied on a body only when it is in contact with whatever is applying the force. For example, friction is a contact force. A non contact force is a force which is applied on a body when it isn't in contact with the body applying the force. Gravity, magnetism and electrostatic are example of non-contact forces. Gravity is only of attractive nature. The other 2 are, however, of attractive and repelling nature. Hope this helps!
