Natural heritage includes thing, like rivers, hills, mountains, seas, streams, lakes, field, wild areas, wild animals, vegetation, deserts etc.

On the other hand, during the passing of human civilisation, those arts and culture which were parts of the earlier phase of civilisation still exist­ing today are also called the parts of cultural heri­tage. For example - dance, music, idol art, litera­ture, social and religious rules and rituals etc.

As a whole, natural heritage is the gift of nature whereas cultural heritage is associated with the man-made things and the things which were found during the different phases of hu­man civilisation. For example - the river Ganges, the desert, the Himalayas are natural heri­tage and on the other hand the Tajmahal, the Lai Kila, Kathak dance, Bhagavat Gita etc. are cul­tural heritage.
