Distinguish between dc and ac generator

in DC generator the electric current rotates only in one direction.
DC generator produces less current compared to AC generator
in AC generation the electric current changes direction periodically.

In direct current (DC) .the electric charge (current) flow only in one direction ... or we can say that if the current  is flow in single direction then it is called direct current or (DC) ..and on other hand in Alternating current (AC) . charge direction periodically. The voltage in AC  circuit  is also periodically because it changes the direction .  given fig. is alternating current..  hope you have understand
