distance is the actual length covered of the path covered by a body and it is a scalar quantity and metre is SI unit..

displacement
¶ it is the shortest distance covered by an object
¶ for example, the displacement of the object from its mean position and back to its real position is zero

distance
¶ it is the amount of path covered by an object in a given period dof time.
¶ for example, it takes a distance of 2 km from home to school approximately.
