Answer: Distance:- 1. It is the actual length of path followed by the body while moving between two positions. .
2. It has only magnitude - it is a scalar quantity
Displacement :- 1. It is the linear distance between the initial and final positions of a body.
2. It has both magnitude and direction - it is a vector quantity.

Distance vs. Displacement: What's the Difference?
- A scalar quantity is distance, but a vector quantity is displacement.
- The overall path taken by the body is measured in distance, whereas the shortest path taken by the body is measured in displacement.
- The distance between two points will never be 0, but the displacement will.
- Displacement can be either positive or negative, but distance cannot be negative.
- Displacement diminishes as time passes, but distance does not.
- The displacement is always larger than or equal to the distance.
