District Forum:-

1]Establishment: District Forum is set up by the State Government.
2]Jurisdiction: It is jurisdiction extends to the whole of the district.
3]President: A person who is or has been or is qualified to be District Judge may be its President.
4]Number: There can be more than one District Forum in a District.
5]Money: It can entertain complaints claiming not exceeding Rs. 20 lakh.

Control: The State Commission has administrative control over all District Forum within the State.

State Commission:-

4]Number: There can be only one State Commission in a State.
5]Money: It can entertain complaints claiming more than Rs. 20lakh but not exceeding rupees one crore.6]Control: The National Commission has administrative control over all State Commission in the country.

"The District Forum and State Commission could be distinguished on many grounds. Some of them are discussed below:

• Jurisdiction: The jurisdiction of the district forum extends to the whole area of the district where as the state commission’s jurisdiction extends to the whole area of the state.

• Money: The district forum can hold the complaints up to Rs. 20Lakh. Whereas the limit of the state commission regarding the complaints is from Rs 20Lakh to Rs 1Crores.
