1.Emf is the maximum p.d between two electrodes of cell when no current is drawn from the cell

2.Emf depends on resistance of the circuit.

3.Emf is greater than the p.d b/w any 2 points.

1.Potential difference is the potential b/w any 2 pts in a closed circuit.

2.P.d is proportional directly to 3.resistance b/w given pts.

P.d is greater than the emf only when the cell is being charged.
