Magnetic forces are always normal to the direction of the velocity of the charge it acts upon, whereas electric force are independent of the direction the charge moves in. ... Electric forcesact between charged bodies (charges),magnetic forces act betweenmagnetized bodies (magnets).

the force between two charged bodies , one charged and other uncharged body due to which they repel or attract each other is called electrostatic force where as the force exerted by a magnet is called magnetic force. the magnetic force acts even from a distance.
