Ethanol is regarded as Ethyl alcohol. The substance contains OH functional group

Ethanoic acid is represented by CH3C00h and is called carboxylic acid

• Acid would turn the blue litmus red while alcohol may not show any change

• Reaction with sodium hydrogen carbonate would result in the formation of effervescence. In fact carbon dioxide is generated.
