Extension of demand refers to an increase in quantity demanded due to a decrease in the own price of the commodity.

Increase in demand refers to an increase in quantity demanded not due to change in price but due to factors other than price such as income, taste, fashion, expectations, etc.

When demand of a commodity increases due to change in the other factors (consumer's taste, income, etc) rather than its price then it is said that there is an expansion of demand.

Increases in demand :-

When demand of a commodity increases due to change in its own price then it is called increase of demand.
