*Forests are comparatively old when compared to agricultural land.

*Forests grow without the involvement of man while agricultural land is created by man. Forests created by man are called plantations.

*Forest soils are fertile by nature. But agricultiral soils are fertilised by us.

*Farm lands are well irrigated and same type of crops are grown. Forests are not irrigated only by rivers and different trees grow there.

*Forests have different layers like forest floor, canopy; while crops grow in about the same layer.
