It is, with a surface area of some 100.000 km2, the world's largest Delta. Approximately two-thirds of the delta is in Bangladesh, the rest constitutes the state of West Bengal, India.
The Nile Delta is the delta formed in Northern Egypt (Lower Egypt) where the Nile River spreads out and drains into the Mediterranean Sea.
