Ionic compounds are formed by the transfer of electrons that are positively and negatively charged, whereas, covalent compounds are formed by sharing the electrons. ... Ionic compounds have definite shape whereas, covalent has no shape.

HERE IS UR ANSWER____________________________
Ionic compounds are formed from strong electrostatic interactions between ions, which result in higher melting points and electrical conductivity compared to covalent compounds.

Covalent compounds have bonds where electrons are shared between atoms.
