Light reaction requires direct sunlight whereas dark reaction does not require direct sunlight.
light reaction-light energy is absorbed by chlorophyll that gets energy and releases an excited electron. It gets passed from one electron acceptor to another in a series of oxidation-reduction reactions. It leads to the formation of energy-rich compounds that are used in dark reaction,which leads to splitting of water into H and O.
Dark reaction- it does not require direct sunlight but uses energy rich compounds made in light reaction to reduce co2 to carbohydrates.
