Answer:
Metals: elements that can conduct electricity, they are generally shiny, malleable, ductile and have mobile electrons that are responsible for the conduction of electricity.
Example: iron, aluminium, copper, etc.
Non- metals: elements which generally do not conduct electricity, that is, they are insulator as they do not have mobile electrons. they are brittle, non- shiny in physical appearance.
Example: carbon (but Graphite that is a form of carbon can conduct electricity because it has delocalised electron as in metals. but it still is a non metal), oxygen, nitrogen, etc.
PS: i hope this satisfies your query. Good luck!
