In visual perception, the far point is the point at which an object must be placed along the optical axis of the eye for its image to be focused on the retina when the eye is not accommodating. It is sometimes described as the farthest point from the eye at which images are clear.

for average person it is infinity.

In optics, the closest point at which an object can be brought into focus by the eye is called the eye's near point. A standard near point distance of 25 cm is typically assumed in the design of optical instruments, and in characterizing optical devices such as magnifying glasses.
