Nodes are that points in which aircraft stationary waves journeying in identical medium have resultant zero amplitudes. At that facets each waves meet in opposite course with equal amplitudes. Medium particles have zero amplitudes at Nodes and Nodes are shaped in closed boundary.

Antinodes are formed in open boundary and particles at that points have highest amplitudes. Nodes and antinodes are shaped in transverse waves.
