A primary industry is involved in the creation of a end good or service. For simplicity, let's focus on an industry we all know, the baking of bread.

Bread, requires, at a minimum, flour,yeast and water, the provision of which are secondary industries. Here you can see that the ingredients CA also be used to create other primary products or services. Flour can be used in cakes or fried chicken or gravy. Yeast can be used in beer or wine products. Water has multiple purposes.

Finally, tertiary industries would be suppliers of equipment used to make or deliver bread. So, ovens can bake bread, but also heat metal or dispose of trash. Delivery trucks can deliver bread, but also any other commodities. Scales can measure the quantity of bread, as well as, any other product.
