Distinguish between quantitative and qualitative tools

Quantitative - Definable by numbers/letters etc. usually associated with pure science and experimental research methodology. An example would be - The towers of hanoi problem. The number of moves the participant makes is quantifiable data. It uses mean median IQR and SD etc.

Qualitative - Associated with expression of feelings, thoughts and behaviour. The information cannot necessarily be 100% accurate. An example would be someone telling us their thoughts and feelings.

Have you ever done a questionairre that asks:

On a scale of 1-5 (1 being low and 5 being high) how do you rate your self confidence?
This is an example of QUANTITATIVE data, as it is numerical and easy to analyse.
