Rabi crops means winter/spring season crops that are grown mostly under irrigation. A good example is wheat. Other Rabi season crops include mustard, canola, potato, peas, lentils, chickpea, berseem, vegetables, etc. It is difficult to grow Rabi season crops without irrigation.
Kharif crops: monsoon season crops sown in May-June and harvested October-November. Rainfall is the main source of water for the crops in Kharif season, Rice is the major Kharif crop and other examples are sorghum, millets, grain legumes (pulses) and oil seed crops.
