The differences are :
- RAM keeps operating system, application, whereas ROM contains programs booting up computer programs, data in use.
- RAM data can be modified (changed and erased) whereas ROM data cannot be modified (read-only).
- RAM is volatile (loses data when computer is turned off, whereas ROM is non-volatile (retains data when computer is turned off).
- RAM is cheaper, whereas ROM is more expensive.
