  • The seismology is the study of the earthquake waves that move through the earth and a seismologist is a person who studies those waves. There are three types of seismic waves as the P waves, S waves, and the L waves. The p waves are the primary waves and moves through the solid rocks and fluids and are also called as the compressional waves.
  • The S waves are those that are called as the secondary waves and can only move through the solid rocks and leads to the conclusion that earth has an outer core in liquid form. While the L waves are surface waves and are formed by a power frequency.
  • The seismographs study the planetary system activities as well as there effects on the tsunamis and use the instrument stat monitor the earth crust and travel to the sites of the tectonic activity.
