If we are born in a country we get a citizenship of that country which is referred as single citizenship but if we migrate to another country and take up the citizenship from that country but do not want to surrender the citizenship of our native country then it is referred as a dual citizenship.

Answer:

There are 2 types of citizenship. One is single citizenship and another is Dual or double citizenship. In dual citizenship, each person is a citizen of both country and state. But in single citizenship, a person has only one citizenship.

Single citizenship :- The term "single citizenship" refers to the fact that all Indians, regardless of where they live, are citizens of India. The Indian constitution is federal in nature, yet it grants Indians single citizenship. It means that Indian citizenship is the sole option.

Dual citizenship :- Dual citizenship — or dual nationality — means being a citizen of two countries simultaneously and sharing the rights and responsibilities of the citizens in each country. Not every country allows dual citizenship, and the rules vary among those that do.

What is the difference between dual citizenship and dual nationality?

Answer :- Non-citizen nationality status refers only individuals who were born either in American Samoa or on Swains Island to parents who are not citizens of the United States. The concept of dual nationality means that a person is a national of two countries at the same time.
