Sodium chloride has higher melting point than naphthalene. this is because sodium chloride has electrostatic forces of attraction and thus this tends to hold the the sodium and chloride ions very strongly and thus responsible for the high melting point. 2. Sodium chloride is very soluble in water than naphthalene.
