A hydrate is example of such a chemical compoundwhere  water molecules are locked and  do not produce  solution with other chemical  components of a compound.

Hydratesin most cases  have water molecules in free form and in open spaces of the  crystal body.

Otherwise,  the water molecules may be highly remains in  orderly manner.

There are also hydrates  with 'hydrate' referred in their names, used to refer to bound water or having formed by addition of water.
