Answer:

speed is a scalar quantity i.e, it has magnitude only but not direction.

Velocity is a vector quantity i.e, having both magnitude as well as direction ....eg, 5 km's to west etc.

velocity= final velo. - intial velo. / tme taken

IF U R SATISFIED WTH THE ANSWER PLZ MRKNME AS A BRAINLIST....

Answer:

The main distinction is that one has direction and the other do not. In other words, you can simply say that speed is nothing but velocity without direction.

Explanation:

Speed is a scalar i. e. It only posess magnitude but no direction.

It can be defined as the distance travelled by the body per unit time.

It is equal to or more than 1 and at times when the body is at rest it is zero.

Velocity is a vector which means it has both magnitude and direction.

So, we can say that velocity is the measure of displacement of the body per unit time.

It can be positive, negative or zero. Because when the direction of displacement alters, velocity becomes negative.
