DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SPEED AND VELOCITY. Speed is the distance traveled by an object where as, velocityis distance traveled by an object per unit time in a particular direction.Speed is a scalar quantity where asvelocity is a vector quantity.

velocity is rate of change of displacement

speed is a scalar quantity
velocity is a vector quantity

speed can never be negative
velocity can take negative value
