Distinguish between speed and velocity

shylajakisho: Speed is a scalar quantity whereas velocity is a vector quantity
shylajakisho: moreover speed is calculated when distance is given ( or even for displacement)
shylajakisho: but velocity is calculated only when displacement is given
111soul111: hey... only he said to tell about speed and velocity.... not to differentiate... so .. as i think so.. my notes are sufficient
shylajakisho: dude, he asked to distinguish
asaingariya: okkkkkkkkkkkkkk
asaingariya: okkkkkkk
shylajakisho: distinguish and differentiate are one and the same

Hey buddy here is your answer

Speed is a scalar quantity and is calculated when distance is given (sometimes even when the displacement is given)

However velocity is a vector quantity and is calculated only when displacement is given.

Hope it helps
