Answer: The Difference is:

1. Speed is a quantity that depends upon distance and time but hence, does not depend upon the Direction of the body and remains constant by it.

Velocity is a quantity that depends upon displacement and time but hence, change with a change in the Direction of the body and varies by it.

2. Speed is a Scalar quantity whereas Velocity is a Vector quantity.

Examples:

1. Suppose a car is moving at a speed of 75 km/hr along the highway. In this case, the velocity of the car will also be 75 km/hr. But, suddenly as the highway comes to an end, the car takes a turn to its right side. Then, it becomes able to retain its speed to 75 km/hr but, the velocity changes due to a change in direction of the body.

Hope this helps.
