Summer Solstice:
- Summer solstice is on 21 June and is also regarded as Northern Hemisphere's longest day of year.
- When the direct sunlight falls on the earth in the northern areas of the equator (northern hemisphere), the days are long and nights are short. This may be regarded as the summer solstices, which occur from June to November in Northern Hemisphere.
Winter Solstice:
- Winter solstice takes place on 22nd of December month, shortest day of year.
- On the other side, when there is no direct sunlight in the area north of the Equator (northern hemisphere), the day is low and nights are long. This may be understood as the winter solstice, which occurs from December to March in the Northern hemisphere.
