Answer:Its functions are almost same as Municipal corporations. ... A Municipal Corporation is to govern cities with a population of more than 100,000 people. Municipal Councils are for towns between 25,000 and 100,000 in population. Nagar Panchayat are for towns with populations between 11,000 and 25,000 people.

The difference between municipal corporation and municipal council is ;

Municipal corporations are set to govern big localities e.g cities of India with the average population of ,more than 100, 000 people.

The role of municipal councils is usually to govern small localities e.g towns.

The average population of their jurisdiction is supposed to be between 11000 people and 25000 people.

Both of this institutions are put under local authorities , a  way from the National government.

The roles of such institution is tax collection, garbage management, issuing of business permits along other duties .
