(ii)For example, one centimetre on the map represents ten kilometres on the ground.

(iii) This can also be expressed in short as 1cm represent 10km or 1cm to 10km.

Graphic Scale:

(i)Graphical or Bar Scale The second type of scale shows map distances

(ii)the corresponding ground distances using a line bar with primary and secondary divisions marked on it.
