(a) Continental glaciers are large masses of ice covering a part of a continent whereas Valley glaciers usually originate from a valley or a plateau ice cap. Continental glaciers are much larger than Valley glaciers.

(b) V-shaped valley is formed by erosion from the river whereas U-shaped valley is formed by the erosion from the glacier.
