Subsistence farming occurs when farmers grow crops to feed themselves. Under this farming , the farm output is targeted for the survival of the farmers and their family and not for trading purpose. All the produce grown is for self consumption.

Intensive farming is an agricultural system of cultivation which uses involvement of large number of labor and capital compared to the land area. It refers to producing maximum crops from small plots of land by using high technologies and high capital.  This farming is aimed to meet food demands and prevent  shortage of food.
