In hydroelectricity water in large amount is stored in dams and potential energy is increased in water then this energy is converted into kinetic energy which is used to give motion to turbines and produces electricity.

in thermal electricity or we can also say call electricity in this electricity chemical energy stored in the coal is used to obtain heat energy by burning it this heat energy is used to convert water into steam this is steam given motion to turbines and turbine start rotating and produce electricity
