frigid zone: 1. lies between arctic circle to north pole in north and antarctic circle to south pole in south.

2.sun rays are never directly overhead. or slanting sunrays fall here. in other words it receives very lesssun rays.

3. the temperature here is very cool and it is covered with ice for most part of the year.
