(i) Direct rays of the sun are hot­ter.  

(ii) They heat a smaller area.

(iii) They travel a shorter distance and travel through fewer

                                                            Slanting Rays

(i) Oblique rays of the sun are not very hot.

(ii) They heat a larger area.

(iii) They travel a longer distance, and travel through many layers .
